For us, it is unthinkable – for the Barzilai Medical Center, it is reality.

The Barzilai Medical Center is located in Ashkelon, Israel and is the home of significant programs and advancements in Oncology, Neonatal Intensive Care, Vascular Cardiology, and much more. Though it is intended to function as a regular operating hospital and teaching facility, it is often unable to do so, as its facilities are constantly being transformed in order to accommodate civilians and soldiers wounded by the frequent rocket showers that rain down over the hospital.
The mission of Friends of Barzilai, a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, is to support The Barzilai Medical Center through fundraising and awareness campaigns in the United States. We strive to shed light on the important work done at the center, despite the challenges unique to its location near the volatile Gaza border, and raise crucial funds needed to improve its operating capacity.
The Israeli government has pledged $44 million of the $100 million needed for improvements to the hospital. Our goal is to match that figure, raising an additional $44 million towards essential upgrades to the Center.
