FOCUSED ON THE FUTURE
Despite the security and other difficulties facing public institutions throughout Israel's history, the Barzilai Medical Center has grown and developed along with the community it serves. Today it is a 408 bed institution. The construction of a new, five-story building for in-patient services has served as a breakthrough in the center's development. It enables the addition of some 150 beds. Focused on the future, the Barzilai Medical Center has plans to add an additional 400 beds, as needed.
The Friends of the Barzilai Medical Center are important partners in the hospital's development and growth. Members of the group include leading community leaders in both Israel and the Diaspora, as well as public officials on the local, regional and national levels. The goal of the Friends Group is to support and expand the hospital and its activities through finding and providing the means to expand services, provide much-needed equipment and increase the array of services offered by the hospital.
