The Qassams of Barzilai:
An Educational Exhibit
The Friends of Barzilai Reception and Exhibition, to be held on October 5th at the elegant and lovely home of Daphna Ziman, will display a stunning collection of sculptures in a meaningful way. The incredible exhibit will be the first of its kind anywhere. Due to the important of our project, the Israeli Government has allowed the remnants and shrapnel from Qassam missiles launched into Israel by Hamas to leave the country for the first time ever. These missile pieces have been reworked into a staggering collection of sculptures by acclaimed Israeli artist Niso Maman, bringing to light the nature of life at the Barzilai Medical Center. Guests will be encouraged to mingle through the collection of sculptures, a dazzling list of speakers will include Honoree Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, and the evening will culminate with a live auction of many of the art pieces. The remaining piece will embark on a traveling exhibit around the US in order to show people the realities of life in a warzone, which, when combined with a live speaking program, will give guests the opportunity to truly understand the challenges facing Barzilai on a daily basis.
